Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya today asked if ‘yahapalanaya’ (good governance) is only for the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).
Speaking at a function held in Karadiyana at the launch of a waste to energy project also attended by President Maithripala Sirisena, Devapriya said that everyone should work together to take the country forward.
He said that it was the United National Party (UNP) which led the campaign for change in the country and so they must now set the standards.
UNP Parliamentarian and Deputy Minister of Policy Planning and Economic Development Dr. Harsha de Silva, who was also at the event, told Devapriya he must ensure national interests are put first.
He said that in the Kotte area some officials of the Western Provincial Council put politics before country. (Colombo Gazette)
