Government assures political stability till 2020

The?Government today assured there will be political stability till 2020 by when the next Parliament election is scheduled to take place.

Minister of Rural Economic Affairs P.?Harrison said that there is a lot of talk these days of a change of Government taking place soon.

He said that the Government cannot change till the next Parliament election which will be held by 2020.

The Minister said that even holding mass street protests will not see the Government being removed.

Harrison said that it is natural for there to be rifts in the Government when the two main political parties in the country decide to work together for the first time.

However he says the Government will continue its journey and develop the country. ?(Colombo Gazette)

DIG in charge of the CID transferred

The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Prasad Ranasinghe has been transferred.
