Petroleum Minister Arjuna Ranatunga today told Parliament the country suffered huge losses as a result of the fuel strike this week.
Ranatunga said that he will brief Parliament soon on the losses suffered by the Government.
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) trade unions had yesterday called of their strike following talks held with President Maithripala Sirisena.
The CPC trade unions said that they had suspended their strike till August 1st.
Fuel storage and distribution was yesterday declared an essential service. The move followed a continuous strike launched by petroleum unions since Monday severely affecting fuel distribution in the country. (Colombo Gazette)
