Sagala orders report from IGP on “abduction” attempt

Law and Order Minister Sagala Ratnayake has ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara to submit a report over the alleged attempt to arrest a member of the Medical Faculty Student’s Association.

The attempt by plain clothed Police officers had taken place at the Organization of Professional Associations (OPA) premises on Thursday.

Activists accused the Police of attempting to “abduct” Rayan Jayalath of the?Medical Faculty Student’s Association.

The attempt was blocked by other members of the?Medical Faculty Student’s Association. (Colombo Gazette)

Ukrainian low-cost air carrier seeks to fly to Sri Lanka

Ukrainian-based SkyUp Airlines, a low-cost air carrier, which belongs to SkyUp LLC, plans to launch flights from Ukraine’s capital city of Kyiv to Sri Lanka and Austria, Unian info reported.
