Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga (CBK) today asked why one cannot question the actions of extremist monks in the country.
Kumaratunga said that being critical of a monk is seen as committing sacrilege.
She says a former President is leading an opposition group which does not support reconciliation.
Kumaratunga said that this former President was involved in creating a group led by a monk with extremist views.
Some chief prelates in the country have slammed comments being made against monks in public. (Colombo Gazette)
