India’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited the North today and discussed development assistance.
Northern Province Governor Reginald Cooray said that at a meeting he had with Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Indian envoy noted the need for a clear plan to develop the North.
Cooray said that Taranjit Singh Sandhu also discussed Sri Lanka making use of the Indian market.
He said that both sides also discussed the fishermen issue and other matters of mutual interest. (Colombo Gazette)
