Cabinet decides no more talks with GMOA on SAITM

The cabinet has approved a joint cabinet paper on the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) and the Dr. Neville Fernando hospital.

The cabinet paper proposes that there are no more talks with the Government Medical Officers’ Association on the SAITM issue.

The joint cabinet paper was submitted by the Minister of Health and the Minister of Higher Education.

It also details the steps to be taken on SAITM in future and the taking over of the Dr. Neville Fernando hospital by the Government. (Colombo Gazette)
