GMOA says strike will continue, warns students may take arms

The Government Medical Officer’s Association (GMOA) today said that it will continue its strike on the SAITM issue.

The GMOA also warned that university students who have been protesting over the SAITM issue will be compelled to take arms.

“We already warned the government that this situation may arise but the government did not listen,” the GMOA said.

Hundreds of patients were left stranded today as a result of the strike by the doctors.

Meanwhile one government doctor was captured on camera practicing at a private medical centre in Galewala during the protest by government doctors. (Colombo Gazette)
