The speech component of the Festival for the Performing Arts organized by the Institute of Music, Speech and Speaking Skills concluded with the Best Performance competition recently.
Running in its 15th year, the Speech Festival took place in 31 centres over a period of 6 weeks, in three centres simultaneously. Directress of the IMSSS, Kamini Perera noted that over 6000 competitors took part this year. Of these numbers, 37 were chosen for the coveted awards at the Best Performers’ Competition.
British High Commissioner, James Dauris was the Chief Guest at the event. The adjudicators this year were Ann Warr, Mary Ann Tear and David Fonville.
