Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had talks with Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland and UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman in New York and briefed them on the developments in Sri Lanka.
During the meeting with Patricia Scotland the Prime Minister discussed strengthening ties with the Commonwealth.
The Prime Minister also invited Patricia Scotland to visit Sri Lanka on an official visit.
With Feltman, the Prime Minister discussed moves underway to draft a new Constitution for Sri Lanka.
The Prime Minister’s office said that Feltman and Wickremesinghe also discussed the recent incidents of hate crimes in the country. (Colombo Gazette)
