Special meeting held with President to discuss concerns over Salawa

A special meeting was held with President Maithripala Sirisena today to discuss the concerns in Salawa following the recent disaster. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, several Government Ministers and the opposition attended the meeting. Indonesia to escort Sri Lankan asylum seekers to international waters

Indonesia will escort a boat bearing 44 Australian-bound asylum seekers from Sri Lanka back to international waters after repairs on Friday (17/06), Aceh provincial authorities said, according to the Jakarta Globe. Officials seize gold bars in Chennai smuggled from Sri Lanka

Over eight kg of gold bars smuggled from Sri Lanka, were today seized from a bus on the East Coast Road in Chennai and three persons were detained in this connection, the Press Trust of India reported.
