Presidential candidates contesting the 2019 Presidential election will appear on the same stage next week. SLFP not willing to promote a dictator

The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) says it is not willing to promote a dictator as President. SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekera said that while the SLFP is in talks with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna to work together at the next elections, it will not blindly agree to join. Relative arrested after Kalmunai teen gets pregnant

A relative of a teen in Kalmunai has been arrested after the young girl was found to be pregnant. The Police said that the 16 year-old girl had fainted on several occasions and was taken to hospital when it was found that the girl was pregnant. Her 23 year-old uncle was arrested on suspicion, the Police said. The father of the girl was dead and the girl had been living with the mother.
