DMK supporters in Tamil Nadu stage fast against Sri Lanka

Workers of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) observed a token fast in Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu protesting against the lackadaisical approach of the Tamil Nadu State and Union governments towards the frequent arrest of fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy and securing the release of boats seized. Gold bars smuggled from Sri Lanka seized in Tamil Nadu

Gold bars smuggled into India from Sri Lanka, were seized from a car by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials at a toll gate on a national highway in Tamil Nadu, the Press Trust of India reported. A total of 8.325 kg of gold valued at Indian Rs 2.21 crore was seized from the van.
