Court slams CID on claims over Wimal’s wife’s passport

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) was advised to be more responsible today by the Colombo Chief Magistrate over claims made that the passport and National Identity Card (NIC) of the wife of Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa were?missing.

The CID had claimed that Shashi Weerawansa’s passport and NIC, which were under investigation, had gone missing from court.

However the?Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court was told today the?passport and NIC were not missing.

The?Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court advised the CID to be more responsible when making claims in future. (Colombo Gazette)
