No approval to produce spirits using rice as raw material

The Government says it has not given approval to produce spirits using rice as a raw material, to any distilleries. Armed men rob bank in Kudawella, one person injured

Armed men robbed a bank in Kudawella in Tangalle today injuring one person. The Police said that the armed men had arrived on a motorcycle and stole?between Rs 5 to 6 million in cash. One gunman had opened fire during the robbery injuring a customer at the bank. The customer was admitted to hospital for treatment.
