SLFP’s Dayasiri appointed co-cabinet spokesman

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) member Dayasiri Jayasekera has been appointed?co-cabinet spokesman.

Jayasekera was appointed to the post after concerns had been raised in the past that only United National Party (UNP) views were being expressed at post cabinet press briefings.

Jayasekera will now join cabinet spokesman Dr. Rajitha Senaratne and former Media Minister Gayantha Karunatillake at press conferences. (Colombo Gazette)

Sri Lanka?s second coronavirus victim cremated

Sri Lanka?s second coronavirus victim was cremated in Negombo last night. Public Health Officials were at the Negombo public cemetery for the cremation. The deceased is a 64 year- old who was receiving treatment at the Negombo Hospital. The first Sri Lankan to die of the coronavirus in Sri Lanka was identified as a 60 year ? old man from Marawila. Number of coronavirus patients rises to 122

The number of patients confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus in Sri Lanka rose to 122 today. The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said 5 new cases were reported today and have been admitted to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda. The Unit further revealed 108 patients, among the confirmed cases, have been reported as active cases.
