Pro-LTTE group urges diaspora to support flood victims

A leading Pro-LTTE group has urged the Tamil diaspora to support the flood victims in the South.

The Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam (TGTE) led by former LTTE negotiator Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran, called upon the international community to contribute generously towards the rescue and rehabilitation of populations affected by the floods.

The TGTE also appealed to the global Tamil diaspora to extend their sincere support to alleviate the suffering of victims and volunteer efforts to help deal with the unfolding calamity through all possible avenues.

“In this moment of humanitarian crisis it is imperative for all concerned show solidarity with the victims of this unprecedented tragedy,” Rudrakumaran said.

He said that in the long run the current crisis indicates the need for better preparedness and improvements in infrastructure at the local levels throughout the island of Sri Lanka to mitigate the impact of such natural disasters. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. I wonder what there true intentions are. There objectives still stay the same. Trying to take a different approach and this is the only way they can funnel through money and be given tax breaks. And besides China’s 2.2m usd is enough. Anymore will be going to the bureaucrats pockets
