Petroleum unions threaten to strike over demands

Petroleum unions have threatened to launch a strike over several of their demands.

The unions warned that they will launch an island-wide strike if their demands are not met by May 22.

The petroleum unions are against moves to reach a deal with India on the Trincomalee oil storage facility.

A strike was launched recently by the petroleum unions but it was called off after the Government assured the unions their concerns will be addressed.
