Government says public gained from Modi’s visit

The Government says the general public in Sri Lanka gained from the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Housing Minister Sajith Premadasa said that Modi’s Government is assisting the people in the North and East and in the estate sector.

He said that while Modi has offered assistance to the people in the Sri Lanka, some members of the opposition had called for black flag protests against Modi’s visit.

Premadasa said the message given by the opposition was that they opposed Indian assistance, including houses being given to the needy in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
