Sharif wants stronger defence cooperation with Sri Lanka

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today emphasized that both Pakistan and Sri Lanka should further strengthen defence related cooperation.

He expressed these views during a meeting with the Commander of the Sri Lankan Army Lt General A.W.J De Silva, who called on Nawaz in Islamabad today.

At the occasion, the Pakistan Prime Minister professed that both Pakistan and Sri Lanka should work jointly in order to achieve regional peace and stability.

Nawaz also expressed his satisfaction over the present level cooperation between both the countries during the meeting.

At the occasion, the Commander of Sri Lankan Army expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister for the warm welcome extended to him during the visit to Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif and the National Security Advisor Lt General (retd) Nasser Janjua were also present at the meeting. (Colombo Gazette)
