Rajitha admits most promises to the North not met

Health Minister and Government spokesman Dr Rajitha Senaratne today admitted that the Government has failed to meet most of its promises to the people of the North.

Speaking at a May Day rally in Jaffna today,?Senaratne said that ahead of the 2015 Presidential elections the people of the North were promised solutions to the land issue as well as to the issue on the missing, housing and employment.

However he said that following the election most of the promises have not been fully met.

He said that the return of land is being carried out in the North in stages. The Minister said he will take steps to push the Government to ensure more land is returned soon. (Colombo Gazette)

JVP meets SLMC and discusses SAITM medical degrees

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) today had discussions with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) on the medical degrees offered by the SAITM university.
