Three suspects arrested while transporting ethanol in Ja-Ela

Three suspects were arrested today while they were transporting ethanol in Ja-Ela, the Police said. The Police said that the suspects had been transporting 50 barrels of ethanol worth over Rs. 13.1 million at the time of the arrest.

Austin Fernando to be Sri Lanka’s new envoy to India

Austin Fernando, President Maithripala Sirisena’s former secretary, has been named Sri Lanka’s next High Commissioner to India, the Press Trust of India reported. He will replace Chitrangani Wagiswara, a career foreign service officer, officials said. Fernando was Sirisena’s Secretary until first of this month when he resigned.
