President issues gazette for Parliament to meet on Friday

A gazette notification has been issued by President Maithripala Sirisena for Parliament to meet on Friday to be informed of the decision taken to declare disposing garbage an essential service.

The President instructed the issuance of the special gazette notification last week to declare garbage disposal as an essential service.

Accordingly a gazette was issued under the Public Security Act Clause NO 16 declaring garbage disposal by any authority of the Public Administration is an essential service.

Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake, in a letter to all Parliamentarians, said that Parliament will meet at 9.30 a.m. on Friday in order to communicate Parliament that an Essential Service Order has been declared by the President by virtue of the powers vested in him under Section 2(3) of Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40) read with Article 70(1) of the Constitution. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. During the MS as President of SL that the period of 2015 January 8th Sovereignty of Parliament became an invalid organization .
    The 68 years after an Independent Ceylon , in the principle norms of Parliament and standing orders has been discarded by President M.Sirisena ?

    Under current regime headed by President Sirisena Parliament are almost a totally paralyzed. Voice of majority denied by Primer of Chamber of the House .

    He has undermined whole set of values been accepts by previous regimes more than 68 years .
    The minority dominated the majority voters.

    The rule of majority of democracy has been fully disappear under misrule by MS term of Presidency .
    It will leads to replace of new political dictarship instead of parliamentary democracy of majority.
