PM sets time-frame to offer relief for Meethotamulla families

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today set a time-frame to offer relief for the families affected by the Meethotamulla tragedy.

He said that steps have already been taken to offer immediate relief to the affected families and further relief will be offered over the next few days.

The Prime Minister met representatives of families affected by the Meethotamulla tragedy today.

Several Ministers, Parliamentarians and other officials also took part in the discussion.

The Prime Minister said that families who have lost their property will be compensated based on the value of their house.

He also said that the affected families can meet the Government officials on Tuesday and discuss any issues they have about their property.

The Prime Minister also said that those who were living on rent in Meethotamulla will be offered relief. (Colombo Gazette)
