SriLankan on alert following swine flu spread in Maldives

With the outbreak of the swine flu epidemic in the Maldives Islands and its Health Protection Agency?s (HPA) travel advice to the general public to restrict movements, SriLankan Airlines said?that the airline has activated Communicable Disease Procedures on its flights that are operating in and out of Male.

Accordingly the crew will be wearing face masks and will provide a face mask to any passenger who requests one to wear during a flight.

“These proactive measures have been taken in the best interest of all our passengers and crew. SriLankan Airlines regrets any inconvenience caused to its passengers during this period,” the airline said. (Colombo Gazette)

Sri Lankan amnesty beneficiaries to be repatriated from Kuwait

The process to repatriate Sri Lankans who are out of status and have sought to benefit from the amnesty declared by the Kuwaiti Government, will commence tomorrow (Tuesday).
