Navy insists asylum boats cannot breach border

The Sri Lankan navy on Friday insisted that security along the maritime boundary of the island nation remains tight and there is no possibility of any asylum boat heading to Australia directly from Sri Lanka undetected. Mobile brothel in Mount raided

A mobile brothel which was operating from Mount Lavinia was raided by the police, the police media unit said today. The police said that the mobile brothel was operating along De Saram Road in Mount Lavinia. A team from the Mount Lavinia police carried out the raid last night. Following the raid the police arrested six people including three women and they were to produce them before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate today.
