Rohitha refuses to budge even as more MPs quit COPE

The Chairman of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) Rohitha Abeygunawardena has refused to step down even as more MPs resigned from the committee in protest over his appointment. Sri Lanka to start restructuring talks with investors next week

Global investors and Sri Lankan officials expect to start negotiations aimed at restructuring $12 billion in defaulted global bonds next week, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday. Debt restructuring to be completed before polls

Restructuring of Sri Lanka’s debt is to be completed before the Presidential election, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said. The President said that the process to reach an agreement on Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring is being expedited.
