The Coast Guard detained two Sri Lankan boats on the charge of foraying into Indian waters on Tuesday evening, The Hindu newspaper reported.
Sources said that the boats were detained while they were fishing off the Nagapattinam coast and were being brought to the Karaikal port.
They were expected to reach Karaikal on Wednesday morning. The exact number of fishermen on board the boats and other details would be known once they reached the shore, Coast Guard sources said. (Colombo Gazette)
