GCE Ordinary Level examinations postponed

The GCE Ordinary Level Examinations 2020 has been postponed and will not be held as scheduled in January 2021, Minister of Education G.L. Peiris informed Parliament today. Minister Peiris said a new date will be announced 06 weeks ahead of the examination to allow students to prepare for the examination. Refugees in South India to be brought back to Sri Lanka

Refugees in South India looking to return to Sri Lanka will be brought back in due course, the Government said today. Tamil National Alliance Parliamentarians Charles Nirmalanathan and Sivagnanam Shritharan said that almost 100,000 Tamils had sought asylum in South India during the war and 80% are now registered and recognised by the Government.
