Mahinda seeks legal advise to take Ravi, CB to court

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says he is to take Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake and the Central Bank to court.

Rajapaksa said that his name has been fraudulently included in?a?gazette notification dated Jan 1, 2015 issued pertaining to the issuance of Central Bank bonds.

The former President told reporters today he was not the President or Finance Minister when the?gazette was printed to issue?Central Bank bonds.

“They have committed a serious act by using my name,” the former President said.

Rajapaksa said that he is in the process of obtaining legal advice in order to take the Finance Ministry and Central Bank to court. (Colombo Gazette)

Police obtain court order against commemorating LTTE in North

The Police have obtained a court order against commemorating the LTTE in the North next week. Police spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that retraining orders were obtained against commemorating slain LTTE cadres in Mannar and Vavuniya.
