Monks want ban on ‘Big Match’ beacuse of “old beasts”

A group of monks today called for a ‘Big Match’ ban because of the actions of “old beasts”.

The Venerable?Omalpe Sobitha Thera said that the current trend gives a different meaning to the “OB” in Old Boys.

He said that these days OB can be termed as?”old beasts” as their actions harm Buddhism during the ‘Big Match’ season.

The monk, addressing the media together with several other monks, said that there was a “conspiracy” to harm Buddhism and the Buddhist culture.

He said that some incidents which occurred last week clearly shows there needs to be a school ‘Big Match’ ban.

Brawl between Colombo clothing store employees and customer
