Former Minister?Johnston Fernando was granted bail today by the Colombo Chief Magistrate in relation to a case filed by the Bribery and Corruption Commission. The Bribery and Corruption Commission had filed the case against Fernando over his failure to declare his assets. (Colombo Gazette)

Wigneswaran against proposed ?Grama Rajya?

Tenth suspect arrested in Vithya murder remanded

A?tenth suspect arrested over the murder of schoolgirl Sivaloganathan Vithya in Jaffna, was produced in court today and ordered to be remanded. Vithya was abducted and was believed to have been gang-raped before she was killed. Earlier nine suspects had been arrested over the incident.
