Skeletal remains thrown outside cemetery while expanding road

Skeletal remains were found thrown outside the Borella?cemetery?by workers involved in a road expansion project.
The discovery was made by Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva who posted a video of the discovery on his Facebook.
The Minister questioned the workers after he found the skeletal remains, some of which were thrown on the side of the road with garbage.
The work is being carried out by the Western Provincial Council Road Development Authority.
An individual who introduced himself as the supervisor of the project said that the remains are buried at another location once removed for the road expansion work.
However the Deputy Minister noted it is not right for the skeletal remains to be thrown into the garbage, as was discovered by him. (Colombo Gazette)
