Rajitha says probe on MIG deal will expose Gotabaya

Government spokesman Rajitha Senaratne says the investigations into the controversial MIG aircraft deal will expose former Defence Secretary?Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

He said that?Gotabaya Rajapaksa is always portrayed as being patriotic but the MIG deal investigations, once completed, will prove otherwise.

Senaratne said this while speaking at an event in Galle.

Speaking further, he said that allegations are now being raised against the current Government yet some people forget what the former regime did.

He said that some serious incidents of corruption had taken place when the former Government was in power.

The Minister also noted that some Ministers in the current Government are working with businessmen linked to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He said that the President and the Prime Minister will investigate allegations raised against the current Government, including the treasury bond issue. (Colombo Gazette)

Ten people dead and over 15400 affected by heavy rain

Ten people have died and over 15,400 others have been affected by heavy rain experienced in the country over the past few days. The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said that between 3rd June and 5th June, ten people have been reported dead and one person is missing. No limit on number of tourists arriving in Sri Lanka via bio bubble

There is no limit on the number of tourists arriving in Sri Lanka via the bio bubble, the Tourism Ministry said today. A maximum of only 75 passengers are permitted to arrive in Sri Lanka in an aircraft if they are not arriving via the Sri Lanka Tourism Bio Bubble Route.
