The police fired tear-gas on an anti-SAITM protest staged in Fort today. The protest was staged by the Inter University Student’s Federation (IUSF). The police used tear-gas and water cannons as the protesters attempted to forcibly enter the Presidential Secretariat. Man who attempted to attack wife killed by neighbours

A man who attempted to attack his wife with a knife was killed by his?neighbors in?Pahalagama, Kiriella, the police said. The police said that the 24-year-old had attempted to kill his wife using acid and a knife. Angry neighbors attacked the man killing him in the process. (Colombo Gazette)
