Ranil takes a tour of a 53ft sailing catamaran

Sail Lanka Charter hosted Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe and his wife on-board their 53ft sailing catamaran, Sapphire, during the Fairway Galle Literary Festival. The impressive vessel reflects local indigenous talent, as it was built in Sri Lanka using local materials. Established in 2014 as part of the Sri Lanka Yachting Group, Sail Lanka Charter is enhancing local boat building skills as a tool to construct a bright future for young Sri Lankans as well as expanding the potential of the Sri Lankan tourism industry.
