Prime Minister asserts Sri Lanka needs foreign investments

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe today asserted that Sri Lanka needs foreign investments to develop the country.

Speaking at the Youth Parliament in Maharagama today, the Prime Minister said there is no move to “sell the country” to anyone.

“No one will remove this country and take it away,” he said.

He said that Sri Lanka must invite top investors to come and put their money in Sri Lanka.

The Prime Minister said that such moves will only benefit Sri Lanka and its people.

He said that if the facilities are set-up in Sri Lanka then no one needs to go overseas seeking employment.

Wickremesinghe said that the Government will look to develop not just Colombo but also the port and airport in Hambantota which will benefit the people of the south.

He said that foreign investments are needed for this purpose. (Colombo Gazette)
