CBK speaks to SLFP Chief Ministers who met Mahinda

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga has spoken to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Chief Ministers who met former President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday.

Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya said that Kumaratunga spoke to the Chief Ministers over the telephone today.

A heated exchange of words had reportedly taken place at the meeting held yesterday between Rajapaksa and seven Chief Ministers of the SLFP.

The meeting ended inconclusively but the Chief Ministers had sought a follow-up meeting with him soon.

The Chief Ministers called for the meeting to seek Rajapaksa’s support for the SLFP at the next Local Government elections.

President Maithripala Sirisena had approved the meeting. (Colombo Gazette)
