Lankan Tamil arrested in India with 500 gm heroin

India’s?Ramanathapuram district unit of Organised Crime Intelligence (OCI) arrested a Sri Lankan Tamil, who was a members of the now-defunct People?s Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE), when he attempted to smuggle 500 gm of heroin near Kothandaramar temple in Danushkodi. Probe on processions held violating polls law

Investigations are being held with regards to?processions staged soon after the accepting of nominations for the August 17 Parliamentary elections closed?on Monday. Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said that video footage and photographs of the processions are being analysed.
