Reconciliation sought between SLTB and private bus operators

The Government says the time has come for “reconciliation” between?the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) and private bus operators.

Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said that at a time the country is pushing for reconciliation among the communities, there is a need for a kind of reconciliation is the transport sector.

The Minister said that attacks on SLTB buses by private bus operators must come to an end.

“Just like the LTTE and the army were at war there has been?a type of war between the SLTB and private bus operators for a long tome,” he said.

The Minister was speaking at the opening of a passenger bus terminal in Vavuniya today. (Colombo Gazette)
