Hospitals on alert to contain spread of A H1N1 virus

Hospitals across the country have been placed on alert to contain the spread of the A H1N1 virus.

Acting Health Services Director General Jayasundara Bandara visited the Kandy General hospital after two deaths were reported in the hospital.

He said that 12 patients at the Kandy hospital are suspected to have the A H1N1 virus and this had led to fear spreading in the area.

The acting Health Services Director General said that all hospitals have been placed on alert to ensure the virus does not spread. (Colombo Gazette)
