Mangala and UK Foreign Secretary discuss way forward

Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera and British Foreign Secretary?Boris Johnson had talks on taking the relationship between both countries forward.

Samaraweera met Boris Johnson at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London.

The Foreign Ministry said that discussions focused on developments in the bilateral relationship, including the way forward to advance trade and investment between the two countries.

Foreign Minister Samaraweera briefed his counterpart on developments in Sri Lanka and progress in the areas of institution building, strengthening democracy, advancing reconciliation and achieving inclusive development. (Colombo Gazette)

Sri Lanka records another 171 Covid deaths

Sri Lanka has recorded another 171 Covid related deaths, the Health Ministry said. The latest deaths had occurred yesterday (Monday) and were confirmed today. The Health Ministry said that the latest victims included 134 people above the age of 60. Over the past few days Sri Lanka has recorded over 150 deaths on a daily basis. (Colombo Gazette)
