PSC records statement from President on Easter attacks

The Parliament Select Committee (PSC) investigating the Easter Sunday attacks recorded a statement from President Maithripala Sirisena today. The statement was recorded at the Presidential Secretariat. The President had earlier agreed to a request to make a statement before the PSC at the Presidential Secretariat. As a result the PSC members visited the Presidential Secretariat to record the statement, behind closed doors. The PSC said that it will submit its final report to Parliament next

Parliament passed the People?s Bank (Amendment) Bill with amendments, when it convened today. The Bill was passed when the adjourned committee-stage debate on the bill took place in Parliament today. The bill was presented by the Minister of Finance in May.
