UNP tells Parliament it will support slashing President’s powers

Kiriella named Leader of the House, Gayantha Chief Government Whip

United National Front (UNF) Parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella was today named the Leader of the House while UNF Parliamentarian Gayantha Karunathilaka was named the Chief Government Whip. Speaker Karu Jayasuriya made the announcement when Parliament convened today. The UNF had met earlier and decided to pick?Kiriella and Karunathilaka for the two posts. (Colombo Gazette)
