Individuals affected by Kilinochchi fire compensated

Minister of Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs D.M Swaminathan provided compensation to 91 individuals who were affected from the fire, which erupted at the Kilinochchi market complex on 16^th September 2016.

Compensation was awarded to the affected people today (28.12.2016) during an event held at the Kilinochchi district secretariat.

About 122 shops were destroyed from the fire and after estimating the damages, the people who were affected from the fire were provided compensation today. Through a Cabinet paper presented by the Ministry, 74 million rupees were allocated to provide compensation to these individuals.

Northern Province Governor Reginold Cooray, State Minister of Children and Women?s Affairs Vijeyakala Maheswaran and several other public officials were present at this event. (Colombo Gazette)

PHIs say vaccination schedule inconsistent

Attorney General (AG) Dappula de Livera today (17) filed indictments before the trial-at-bars hearing the cases filed on the 2016 Central Bank bond scam.
