Police told to investigate claims President will die soon

The police has been asked to investigate claims made by an astrologer that President Maithripala Sirisena will die before January 26 next year.

Media Ministry Secretary Nimal Bopage said that the claims on the President was being circulated on social media.

He said that the claims made by the astrologer are false and so the police has been asked to investigate the “conspiracy”.

Former Navy sailor and now astrologer Wijemuni Vijitha Rohana de Silva had made the claims on social media. He is noted for his assault on Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1987.

Bopage said that there was a threat to the life of the President through the claims made by the astrologer and so it must be investigated.

Meanwhile, it is understood that the President’s office had distanced itself from the statement made by Bopage to the media. (Colombo Gazette)

  1. Actually all predictment of astrologers are false and their illusion. Most of the people lost their belongings and their position by beleiving the falsehood. The astrologers do not know about their fate what will happend to them on next moment. For instance, previous regime MR.
