International arrest warrant issued for Emil Kanthan

An international arrest warrant was issued by the Colombo High Court today for former LTTE financier Emil Kanthan.

The warrant was issued over the investigations being conducted into the alleged?misappropriation of funds received following the 2004 tsunami.

The Attorney General had in August filed indictments against former Parliamentarian Tiran Alles?and Emil Kanthan for financial misappropriation.

Alles, Emil Kanthan and two others were charged with the misappropriation of Rs. 200 million belonging to the Reconstruction and Development Agency (RADA). (Colombo Gazette)
