India and Sri Lanka hold talks on maritime related issues

Chief of the Naval Staff of Indian Navy, Admiral Sunil Lanba, called on the Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke at the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff today.

During the cordial discussion, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Indian Naval Chief shared thoughts of military history of both countries and exchanged views on matters of bilateral interest.

They also recalled the longstanding relations between India and Sri Lanka. The delegation is in Colombo to attend the Galle Dialogue ? 2016.

The meeting culminated with the exchange of mementoes to mark the visit. (Colombo Gazette)

Health Ministry denies claims vaccines being sold locally

The Health Ministry has denied claims that coronavirus vaccines are being sold locally. According to the Health Ministry, any coronavirus vaccine sold in Sri Lanka is not an approved vaccine. Over 20,000 policemen deployed to enforce travel ban

Over 20,000 policemen have been deployed to enforce a travel ban in the country. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that the travel ban will be strictly enforced. He said that only essential services and delivery services as well as other selected movements will be permitted.
