Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Nimal Siripala De Silva told Parliament today that some opposition members have asked why the Government is turning to China and India.
“Where do we get the money from then?” the Minister asked.
He said that if not for the Indian line-of-credit Sri Lanka’s railway network would not have developed.
The Minister said that while some politicians can tell the public Sri Lanka should not turn to China or India, in practice that cannot be done. (Colombo Gazette)
