SLFP members in joint opposition to promote SLPP

Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members in the joint opposition are to promote the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

Former Minister and SLPP member Basil Rajapaksa said that the recruitment process for SLPP members was progressing well.

He said the SLPP hopes to open offices in all the districts with the support of joint opposition members.

Several former?SLFP provincial council members joined the SLPP at a recruitment drive held today.

Rajapaksa said that the party was also able to recruit members from Jaffna. (Colombo Gazette)

Fuel price formula scrapped, fuel price reduced

The Government today reduced the price of fuel and also announced that the existing fuel price formula had been scrapped. President Maithripala Sirisena has written to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe saying he has been sacked.
